I know it’s not uncommon for pinays to go to other countries as mail order brides but is it socially acceptable for pinoys to get mail order brides from other countries? Do you know any pinoy to have done that already?
This is surprising … people in YAP are more tolerant of this than foreigners. I just posted a similar question in WEDDINGS and 17 answers in 15 minutes … all hated me. hahahahahaha
I don’t know of any pinoy having gotten a mail order bride (whether russian or others).
As to being socially acceptable, well.. let’s just say the guy will be quite popular (and the talk of the town) for some time.
If some pinoy dude does get one (with all the costs he will be incurring), he must be one rich dude indeed…

i heard a lot of cases like these, but not encounter anybody yet… I say, most of this mail order bride are sent to a particular party not even knowing the nature of their living… Most of them are promised a job abroad not knowing that they will be married and maltreated…

Regarding the question, if heard a filipino had a mail order russian bride, no case like this. Russian is far richer than philippines and impossible to have one. I heard of fixed marriage but not as mail order bride.

If they are a reflection of the Filipinos I see at home; they will all have their own opinion really. Some will question why do such a thing when there are many girls here; while others would think it strange and have to grow on the idea that it’s ok. But one thing will always remain; Filipinos don’t forget! They’ll have their own opinions but they’ll never forget how a guy came to have his wife. So it’s really a mix up between bad sayings and talking about a weird or not very common situation.

a pinoy doesn’t need a mail order bride. we already have the prettiest girls in town. but i do know of a lot of pinoys in the mideast who prefer russian b***** when they go for a party.
